Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Versper ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile application, published by Deep IT Consulting, that turns a photo of a problem into a step-by-step solution and builds practice quizzes. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Versper app and this website (together, the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account information: your email address, name and profile photo when you sign in with email, Google, Apple or Facebook. You can also start as a guest, in which case we only create an anonymous identifier.
• Your content: the photos of problems you scan, the notes, PDFs or text you add to create a quiz, and the questions you ask about a solution.
• Learning data: your solved problems, quizzes, answers, scores, streak and progress.
• Preferences: your study level, subjects, language and notification settings.
• Challenges and referrals: the challenges you send or join and the referral code you share or use. A person you challenge sees your initial and your score, not your photos.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device information: device type, operating system, app version, language and identifiers used to keep you signed in and to protect the Service from abuse.
• Usage data: the features you use and the actions you take in the app, to understand what works and improve it.
• Crash data: error logs and performance data.
• Push notification tokens: to deliver the reminders you have turned on.
• Purchase information: which plan you have and when it ends. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never receive your card details.

2.3 Camera and Photos

Versper asks for access to your camera to scan a problem, and to your photo library when you choose an existing picture. We only receive the photos you choose to scan or select.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create your solutions, explanations and quizzes
• Save your solutions and quizzes so you can find them again
• Adapt explanations to your study level and language
• Send the reminders and notifications you have turned on
• Manage your plan, your free allowance and your purchases
• Understand how the app is used, fix problems and improve the Service
• Protect the Service against abuse and fraud
• Answer your requests and provide support

4. AI Processing

Versper uses artificial intelligence to write your solutions, explanations and quizzes. To do this, your photos, notes and questions are sent through our servers to an AI model provided by Google (Gemini). We may also use Google Cloud services to read the text in your images and documents.

The app asks for your agreement before the first time your content is sent to the AI. You can withdraw it at any time in the app under Settings, "AI data sharing". Without it, Versper cannot create new solutions or quizzes, and it will ask you again before the next one.

Solutions and quizzes are generated by AI and can contain mistakes. We do not use your content to train AI models of our own, and we do not sell it. Google processes the content we send under its own terms for the Gemini API.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the providers that help us run the Service:

• Google Cloud: hosting, database and file storage
• Google Gemini and Google Cloud AI services: creating solutions and quizzes from your content
• Firebase (Google): sign-in, push notifications, crash reports, usage analytics and app configuration
• Apple, Google and Facebook: when you choose to sign in with one of them
• Apple App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat: purchases and subscription status
• Legal requirements: when required by law or to protect our rights

When you share a solution or a challenge link, the people who open the link can see what the link contains: the problem text and first step of a shared solution, or your initial and score for a challenge. Your photos are never shown on shared links.

Some of these providers may process data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards they provide, such as standard contractual clauses.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account and its data at any time in the app under Settings, "Delete my account", or by writing to contact@versper.ai. We process deletion requests within 30 days. Some records may be kept longer where the law requires it, for example purchase records.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Withdraw a consent you have given, such as AI data sharing or notifications
• Export your data in a portable format
• Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
